"18th Century Fabric Sacristy Box"
Rare sacristy box covered in 18th century fabrics. Made from sewn pieces of cardboard, then covered with cotton and finally silk. Domed lid with depression in the center covered with blue damask silk alternated with silk brocade; highlighted with golden metallic ribbons. Closure by casing. Blue-green silk interior. Significant wear to the fabric, fortunately more on the inside than on the outside. Wear of the fabric also under the box, but understandable. A label is attached under the base on which the following text is written in pen: Sacristy box of Jean Hyancinthe de Broqua Lord of jaubé, doctor of Sorbonne Canon of the collegiate church of Sos in Armagnac (1691-1752) No doubt about the veracity of this precious testimony. Please note: the label greatly values this very authentic object. Delivery: €10 for mainland France.
