"Ravinet d'Enfert Empire Covered Cup, Ceremonial Tureen, Silver Metal Centerpiece"
Large elegant Empire style covered bowl in silver metal, from the Ateliers Ravinet D'Enfert. It rests on a pedestal decorated with a frieze of gadroons in the upper part and another frieze of water leaves on its lower part. This same decoration of water leaves also adorns the edge of the lid as well as the fretel and its crown. The two sockets are in the Antique style and decorated on their tops with stylized quatrefoil motifs. The base of our cup bears the various goldsmith's hallmarks of the famous Maison Ravinet d'Enfert., founded in 1891 by Louis Ravinet and Charles d'Enfert. We can distinguish the two hallmarks: The initials RD surrounding a clover and the two names RavinetD'Enfert surmounted by a clover. This company was based at 83 rue du Temple in Paris. It has received numerous distinctions. This magnificent piece can be used as a bowl (with or without lid), tureen, centerpiece etc... Note tiny scratches from use and traces of cleaning.
