Object description :

"Biedermeier Secretary - Early 19th Century"
Elegant BIEDERMEIER secretary from 1815 - 1848 in walnut veneer. The flap reveals a rich set of drawers, some curved, as well as a door, all nicely inlaid. Counterweights at the back of the flap prevent it from falling forward and hold it in place even if it is not closed with the key; this particularity is specific to high quality furniture. Double bolt lock on the flap, 3 drawers at the base and 1 under the cornice make this piece of furniture very functional. A stylish, elegant piece of furniture with multiple attractions, evocative of a rich era. All locks are original.
