The good news is that as it cost me less, the price will be more modest. the description is comparable:
It is a fine example of daggers from the area Syria Lebanon. It dates from the mid-19th century. It is in good condition, with some gaps in the inlays on the handle. For some authors, it would be typical of the Druze populations of the mountains.
BLADE: It has a complex diamond section: On the convex side, the cutting edge begins immediately and continues to the tip. On the concave side, the blade has an unedged part over the first 9 centimeters, decorated with geometric patterns and partially gilded. Then the back becomes sharp and joins the tip. On each side we find a large engraved fuller whose bottom is cut with an openwork which is probably a representation of the "ewer of purity" which symbolizes the Prophet. The base of the blade is surrounded by a chiseled brass ring. T
he blade has some oxidation stains
Length of the blade = 19.7 cm, width at the guard = 2.8 cm, thickness near the guard = 4.2 mm
GUARD: it is a small guard made of a solid brass plate, with double curvature, with a geometric decoration made of points.
HILT : It is made of horn with numerous inlays of coral, brass, and bone, some of which are missing.
A small brass ferrule ensures the junction with the guard. The tang is riveted to the rear portion of the handle.
SCABBARD : it is made of wood covered with the original velvet. Entrance to the scabbard and butt made of brass sheet, connected together by a cut brass plate.
