Object description :

"19th Century Pair Of Carved Consolles "
Splendid pair of wall consoles supported by winged griffins, made with skill in carved wood and painted in an elegant ivory colour, embellished with gilded highlights with pure gold leaf. These Florentine-made works of art date back to the mid-19th century, when Florence was the capital of Italy during the time of Napoleon III. Griffins, mythological creatures with a single leg and wings, give a special touch to these consoles, a symbol of power and elegance. The marble top features a liver red breccia with splendid white streaks, which add further refinement and prestige to the work. These consoles are a perfect example of the Florentine craftsmanship of the time, a true jewel to be admired and appreciated for its beauty and history.
