"Rare Cloakroom Vestibule Chest In Walnut – Late 19th Century"
Large Cloakroom Chest in carved solid walnut with numerous hooks, a beveled mirror and a chest bench. The lower part is formed by a deep chest whose facade is decorated with a more intensely colored applied panel. It is carved with a relief decoration depicting peasants under a storm. Above, two turnings support wooden elements forming armrests, supporting large white metal balls. At each corner, a curved tubular structure forms an umbrella holder or cane holder. In the lower part we find a zinc tray. The sides of this cloakroom are made up of large fluted uprights accompanied by large scrolled and flowered consoles in the lower part. Large double hooks and single hooks are attached to these uprights. The back part is made up of small turned spindles supporting a horizontal crosspiece perforated with trefoils. Above, we find a large original beveled mirror surrounded by a basket handle frame. Above, a crosspiece supporting four large hooks is held by wooden elements pierced with trefoils. This cloakroom is topped with a molded cornice. Its functionality and warm color will make this Belle Époque cloakroom an asset to your entrance.
