Francisco Planas Doria Spanish painter born in 1876 in Sabadell, died in Sabadell in 1956. Catalan landscape painter and post-impressionist. He is a student of Juan Vila Cinca. In 1895, he moved to Madrid where he attended the School of Fine Arts of San Fernando. Back in Barcelona, he took classes at the San Jorge School of Fine Art. In 1901, he traveled to Paris where he perfected his skills. He then moved to Brussels. He exhibits in Barcelona, Madrid, Bilbao, La Coruña, Paris, Buenos Aires and London. He obtained 3 gold medals and 2 silver medals at different International Trade Shows. He was President of the Circle of Fine Arts of Catalonia. He is one of the main players in the Group of Catalan Landscapers, seeking to give his work the greatest possible diversity. Alongside its Catalan landscapes, those of Bilbao, Santander, Guipuzcoa or Asturias have nothing to envy in terms of the richness of its gray tones, its effects of light at the end of the day, its humid atmospheres offer a coherence recognized at the all of his work.
