They become real objects of art, made of precious materials such as silver, ivory or mother-of-pearl. This notebook is made of tortoise shell with an enamel portrait of Mathieu Deroche inserted. Mathieu Deroche (1837-1937) miniaturist and photographer is best known for his portraits colored and transferred to enamel, a process that bears his name.
