"Important Sculpture By Henri Peinte"
Important sculpture by the French artist Henri Peinte (Cambrai 1845 - Paris 1912) A student of Duret and Cavelier, he made his debut at the Salon in 1877 and won the grand prize in 1889 at the Universal Exhibition. His subjects, like "Sarpedon", are of mythological inspiration. Some of his works can be seen at the Cambrai Museum, the Luxembourg Museum and also at Orsay. Beautiful patina, signature on the terrace.
