Round box decorated with fine rose gold interlacing on a cream-colored composition background (pillared fish scales, binder and pigments). Frame decorated with a braid frieze in 750 yellow and green gold. Lining in brown tortoiseshell. French work from the end of the 18th century. Composite material: as its name indicates, it is made up of a material composed of crushed fish scales to which a binder and a pigment of one's choice are added, thus forming a composite material.
