We can see in this drawing, in the center of the square, the equestrian statue of Tsar Nicholas 1st (1796-1855) with St Isaac's Cathedral on its left and Marie Palace on its right, commissioned by Tsar Nicholas 1st for his daughter Marie Nikolaevna (1819-1876). Great mastery and neo-classical style for this watercolor drawing. Signed S.Stepanova lower right. Dated 93 lower left. Located at the bottom right in Russian (Isaakievskaya Ploshchad).
