The handles are made of wood, most likely rosewood, the bases are silver.
They look great, the wood has great characteristic stripes, and fit well in the hand.
One of the knives has a white silver handle, the other is in gilded silver.
The vermeil is in very good condition.
Each blade is marked: Got a Moulins with an ermine.
It is most likely the cutler Etienne Got, who became a master in Moulins in 1777, or a member of his family.
The blades are not hallmarked but the silver blade has been acid tested.
Superb pair of silver and vermeil knives from the 18th century.
8 inches long
72.9 grams for the pair
Very good state. A small accident without impact on the solidity at the base of the silver blade. Another at the base of the knife with the silver-gilt blade.
