PRIMITIVE ART-ARTS OF ASIA-POPULAR ART PHILIPPINES ISLAND OF LUSON BONTOK PEOPLE BULUL FIGURES RITUAL/CEREMONAL SPOONS SILVER-BRONZE LATE 19TH-EARLY 20TH CENTURY Two Bulul figures adorn the handle/grip of these ceremonial spoons (marriage, coming of age adult...) in silvered bronze, used by the Bontok people of the province of Ifugao, carved in the center of the island of Luzon, in the Philippine archipelago. These two emblematic figures sitting on the bowl of each spoon. Most often and traditionally, these ritual spoons are made of wood. Our two pieces probably date from the end of the 19th century or even the beginning of the 20th century. They are in very good condition (see descriptive photos). Total weight: 231 grams.
