André Huguenin-Dumittan was born and died in La Chaux-de-Fonds in Switzerland (1888-1975). Originally from Le Locle, he studied in Paris, at the School of Fine Arts and in the workshop of the French sculptor Jean-Antoine Injalbert (1845-1933). The towns of Le Locle and La Chaux-de-Fonds commissioned a large number of works from him.
