Bouddah Maravijaya, Burma (Myanmar), Shan, 19th century. The Awakened One is represented in vajrasana on his double lotiform base, his hands in bhumisparsha mudra. Carved wood, red lacquer and gilding. Wear and loss on the lower part of the base. Provenance: Estate of the collector and art dealer Claude de Marteau. Sold with certificate of provenance.
