Signed "BRONZE" with SUSSE publisher's stamp and numbered "3". Signature on the terrace "DALOU" and intaglio "Lost wax". Aimé-Jules Dalou (1838 -1902,) French sculptor. Admitted in 1854 to the School of Fine Arts in Paris. Studied painting in the studio of Abel de Pujol and sculpture in the studio of Francisque Duret. He began to earn his living working for ornamentalists. Influenced by his friends Auguste Rodin and Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux.
