A student of François-Laurent Rotard and Henri Gauquié, he obtained an honorable mention at the Salon of French Artists of 1909.
On March 1, 1926, he married Clothilde du Puigaudeau, decorator and sister of the painter Ferdinand du Puigaudeau.
An amateur ornithologist, he illustrated numerous birds. These plates were used, among other things, for the edition of the "Little Atlas of Birds" in several volumes published in the 1940s.
