"Enamel - Myriam Bros 1918-2003"
Enamelled lava plaque, mounted by the artist in a black lacquered wood frame. Signed and dated on the back of the montage “Myriam bros 1979”. On the back of the wooden frame assembly there is no hook to hang it on the wall because the work is too heavy. This work is intended to be placed (for example on a fireplace) or four “L” shaped pegs must be placed on the wall to support the work. In addition to numerous exhibitions in Lyon (She chaired the Salon du Sud-Est for 8 years), in Paris, Grenoble, Stuttgart... she collaborated with architects, creating numerous monumental works throughout the region. “A giant door opens in the night. This door allows you to discover the magical and new world of an enameled fan. This discovery makes the work of the artist appear like a new birth... Enamel is a precious gift to which we become accustomed in order to penetrate both the technical richness and the dazzling whims of the colors” Myriam Bros. Alain Vollerin published, in Lyon in 1998, with the “Mémoire des Arts” editions, a book on Myriam Bros: “Art as an Alchemy” which includes, after the preface by Alain Vollerin, a text by Myriam Bros explaining her Art , and interviews by Myriam Bros with Art Lyonnais critic René Deroudille. Numerous color reproductions (33), and a photographic report on her workshop and her ovens, allow us to clearly understand the world of this artist.
