"Sculpture Young Woman Art Deco Paule Bisman "
After studying at the middle school of Namur, in 1913 she took lessons from the landscape painter Désiré Merny at the Academy of Fine Arts of Namur. In 1919, she entered the Brussels Academy for seven years where she was a student of Herman Richir and Jean Delville for painting, and of Victor Rousseau and Paul Du Bois for sculpture. She won four gold medals and in 1927 received a distinction at the Prix de Rome for sculpture. Numerous trips completed his training: Amsterdam, Paris, The Hague. She then began a brilliant career as a painter and sculptor which led her to settle permanently in Woluwe-Saint-Lambert in 1930. Paule Bisman's work remains anchored in tradition. The Flemish painters of the 19th century attracted him more than the new trends favored by young artists. More classic, she finds her inspiration in nature, architecture and the beings who surround her. In painting, his best-known subjects are his interior representations and his portraits. In sculpture, she enjoys modeling the features of young children or shaping beautiful expressive attitudes. Exhibitions in Brussels, Ghent, Antwerp, Liège, Charleroi, Namur, Spa, but also in Paris and the French provinces. Measurement with base 41cm in height. The patina is beautiful as is the marble.
