"Painting By Jean Thomas (1923-2019), Rhône Valley "
Trained at the Academy of Fine Art in Lyon, Jean Thomas exhibited his works in 1946. In line with the great painters of modernity, his first paintings echo Thomas' greatest influences, namely Fernand Léger and Matisse. Some articles published about him evoke the affirmation of a true artistic personality, comparing him to his contemporaries: Bernard Buffet, Aizpiri, Krol, Martinet, Patrix etc. From 1955, Jean Thomas devoted himself primarily to landscape painting, through a precise study of light and great pictorial mastery. His works reflect a trend: realistic post-war landscapes. As a professional painter, he has exhibited his works on numerous occasions, notably at the Gallery Art de la Place Beauvau and at the Tournelle Gallery in Paris. In total, he has participated in more than a hundred exhibitions in France and abroad. Inscribed in a white frame, this painting was produced by Jean Thomas on August 28, 1982.
