"Pair Of Elegant Baluster Candlesticks In Silver-plated Copper, Late 18th Century English Period"
Impressive in size, these sober balluster candlesticks with a square section in embossed copper, weighted on a steel base, are in the English Neo-Classical style. Well silvered from the period, these two pieces are worked with grooves on the foot, festoons on the bobêche and a frieze on the square ogee foot, the bobêche of a flight and a generous shape gives the look with the thinned with beautiful movement on the base; joining the base. The whole thing is in one piece, which raises questions about the prowess of this beautiful brassware of English specificity. Corresponding to our Louis XVI style, and with strong decorative power, these two beautiful pieces will be useful for intimate dinners. A proud and sober appearance for these large candlesticks in good original condition including the very thick period silvering.
