"Monstrance Reliquary Saint Liberat - 18th Century"
Tyrolean art, pyramidal in shape, our monstrance is made of delicately carved and gilded wood. It rests on a wooden base also a reliquary. The main niche, the one located on the base, accommodates a notable relic of Saint Liberatus, abbot martyr in 484.The upper niche also contains ex-ossibus and bagged relics of the Holy Martyrs Gratien and Fulgentius. The whole is based on a rich work of pearls, stones and silver threads, centered on a small gouache in a medallion.
On the back are numerous wax seals attesting to the inviolability of this reliquary which also has its original glasses.
Piece in good condition. Some cracks and small gaps.
Dimensions of 50 cm by 33 wide and 11 cm deep.
