Pair of Louis XV period armchairs. Mid 18th century. These convertible armchairs rest on arched legs ending in small scrolls. The top of the front feet is carved with flowers. The front crosspiece and the top of the backrest are also carved with flowers and foliage. The armrest consoles are called “whiplash”. The whole is elegantly molded. Note some slight differences in the sculptures. Structure in very good condition. Reinforcements present at the corners. Traditional strap and horsehair trim in good condition. These seats are covered with small stitch tapestry in good condition. Old off-white lacquer and sage green refinishing. Dimensions: L 61 x D 54 x H 88 Seat height: 42
