"Proto Dogon Mali Pendant - Primitive Art"
Pendant in low relief, flattened. The character's face is Djénné. The rings at the base were to allow ornaments to be added. Its position: Bust in front and legs in profile seems close to the art of ancient Egypt. Bronze, old lost wax casting. Green patina. It is rare to find them in such a good state of conservation. Dimensions: 8.2 x 5.2 cm 10.2 cm height with its base. Proto Dogon Mali 18th century. Provenance: Former Mr Richet collection (part of his collection was exhibited at the Musée du Quai Branly).
