Signed Cosson lower left. .Jean Louis Marcel COSSON was born in 1878 in Bordeaux and died in 1956 in Paris. Genre painter, compositions with characters, interiors, flowers, gouache painter, watercolorist, post-impressionist, Marcel COSSON has often treated subjects of Opera, ballet, circus. He was a painter of women, of Parisian life, of the world of dance, of theater. The paintings by Marcel Cosson representing the foyer of the opera with its ballerinas are particularly appreciated. Marcel Cosson first exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris, of which he became a member, then at the salon of the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts and at that of the Tuileries.
