"18th Century Italian School Painting "fauna And Nymph""
Beautiful oil on panel from the 18th century Italian school representing a faun trying to seduce a half-naked nymph, behind them a man seems to have brought a tray and at their feet two putti around an overturned jar, playing with what seems be a paint palette and a brush. This scene is probably a study for a painting representing a bacchanalian scene. The painting is nicely arranged in a gilded wooden frame, carved with a bouquet of flowers in the upper part. On the back of the panel is stuck a label bearing the words “Italian School of the 18th century”.
