Catalan painter, Alfred Figueras studied at the Lotja school in Barcelona. He frequented the group of “Los evolucionistas”, a Barcelona artistic group in the aesthetic sphere of Noucentisme, influenced by Cézanne and the Fauves. In 1925, he went to Algiers, the city where he settled to work. In Algiers, he founded the Academy of “Arts” with the sculptor Tona. He produced the book of engravings "images of Algiers" with texts by André Gide Works at the National Museum of Catalonia, Regional Museum of Manresa, museums of Algiers, Oran and Casablanca.
