Large pre-Columbian anthropomorphic terracotta vase, representing a crouching character, wearing necklace, earrings and a serrated crown, origin Chancay culture - Peru, period approx. 1100-1400 AD. From South/Central America. This sculpture is in its juice, some damage. Comes from an entire collection of Egyptian and pre-Columbian objects collected by a passionate collector in the 20th century (we are offering many other objects from this set for sale). Please note: accidents and losses on the arms, ears, scratches and wear over time, see photos. *The Chimú civilization was an important pre-Columbian civilization for several centuries, from 1000 to 1470. Probably coming from the Moche culture, they were conquered by the Incas led by Túpac Yupanqui under the reign of Pachacutec and integrated into the latter's empire.
