French painter of seascapes, genre scenes, portraits, nudes... In 1906 he entered the Académie Julian in the workshop of Jean Pierre Laurens, then, in 1908, at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris in the studio of Gabriel Ferrier.
He has exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants, in Paris, since 1918, and has participated in almost all the Parisian salons: Tuileries, Automne, Luxembourg, at the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts of which he is a member of the committee. In 1929, he participated in the founding of the École de Montmartre with Dignimont, Asselin, Pascin, Bonnard, etc.
If he painted still lifes, flowers, portraits and nudes, it is in his landscapes of cities, of Paris, of his neighborhood, with its hawkers and its animation, that he is most faithful to his personality. Vigorous realist, in the tradition of Marquet.
