Large Japanese cabinet called "kodansu", in black lacquer and gold decorations depicting characters, flowers and birds. It has two large doors and four drawers, the interior is also decorated and there are sliding doors. Meiji era furniture, late 19th century. It is in good general condition, there are some gaps and defects especially in the lower part.
