"Oil On Canvas Man With Golden Helmet By Arthur Midy After Rembrandt"
This oil on canvas was produced by Arthur Midy, it is a reproduction of "The Man with the Golden Helmet" which was long attributed to Rembrandt and disattributed in 1986. Arthur Midy was born in Saint Quentin in Yveline. From the age of twelve, his talents as a painter were encouraged by the city, which awarded him multiple prizes and rewards, and financed his training in Fine Arts. At the same time, he will follow artistic training at the Académie Julian in Paris. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1897 to 1928. It was at the age of 28 that he discovered Le Faouët, and he was introduced to genre scenes and landscapes, abandoning historical or biblical subjects for which he was trained. From now on he will share his life between Paris and Faouët. This work was produced with great mastery and the technique is very interesting, however it is in poor condition. We report numerous frictions on the paint, cracks and gaps, you will note three significant holes. Traces of wear and gaps visible in our photos. The wooden frame is in a suitable state of conservation. The work is sold uncleaned, unrestored. For the condition, please detail the photos.
