"Marcel Durieux, Attack In The Somme July 1916, Pen Drawing, Foreign Legion"
Very interesting pen drawing on cardboard by Marcel Durieux representing the attack and capture of Belloy-en-santerre on July 4, 1916. Note the very great precision of this drawing and the movement that emerges from it. We experience the attack with the painter. Marcel Durieux joined the legion in 1914 and he took part in all the major battles of the war which he immortalized in his drawings. He experienced these scenes, it is a direct testimony. The Tours archives preserve several drawings by the artist. Good general condition, slightly yellowed paper and some rust spots, slight folds. Dimensions: 28.5 x 22.7 cm
