Important and very large bronze sculpture resting on a rectangular base in blue stone, green/brown patina representing the Welsh Ambiorix, king of the Burons, national hero of Belgium who fought against the Romans.

A very expressive sculpture , carried by the same nationalist and romantic-historical movement as that which touched Vercingetorix for the French. Signed on the shield "Hippolyte Le Roy Statuaire Gand".
