Dagger, 2nd Empire period, 1853, Imperial Forestry School, without sheath, NAP III, 19th century. Gilded and cast bronze frame with carving. Marking in the center of the quillon "FORESTS" with oak branches decorated with a plamette on the reverse, frieze of eggs and pearls. Globular pommel with bee interlacing oak leaves with pearls and riveting button. Quillons at the ends with eagle heads. Black horn fuse with vertical grooves. Blade with flat back on the 1st third and 1 edge and counter-edged at the tip. Engraving on both sides. One with attributes of hunting trophies and foliage. The other foliage and inscription “ECOLE IMPERIALE FORESTIERE”. On the back of the blade, partly illegible marking, Manufacture de Coulaux Klingental. blade showing wear over time and oxidation in places, see photos. Central edge brought back to the center at the tip. Length: 70 cm Length of the blade: 53.5 cm Width of the blade at the heel: 2.5 cm.
