"Painting By Michèle Cascella (1892-1989)"
Michele Cascella is an Italian artist known for his post-impressionist landscape paintings. Inspired by the work of Vincent Van Gogh, Raoul Dufy, and Maurice Utrillo, Cascella uses watercolor and pastels for his vibrant colors that reflect the rich flora of the Abruzzi soil on which he grew. Born on September 7, 1892 in Ortona a Mare, Italy, Cascella learned drawing and engraving techniques from his father who worked as an artist. He was still a teenager at the time of his first exhibition, then later met Filippo Tommaso Marinetti and Giorgio de Chirico while living in Milan. He died on August 31, 1989 in Milan at the age of 96. This painting depicts a seaside near Portofino, a region that he particularly loved. size with frame: 73 x 88 cm
