"Grotesque Nutcracker"
Beautiful grotesque nutcracker, cut into two parts: screw and seated figure, carved from fruit tree wood. The screw sits on a round base and is nicely turned, the base is a fluted column rod. The funny little character dressed in the style of the 17th century who sits on the column is a pleasure to see. The nut turns in a spherical housing made at the back of the figure. Northern Italy Good condition, manufactured around 1800. dimensions, H: 16.5 cm.
