Pre-Columbian stirrup vase in polychrome terracotta decorated with geometric motifs, origin Mochica* culture - Peru, period approx. -100 BC - 700 AD. From South/Central America. This sculpture is in its original state. Comes from an entire collection of Egyptian and pre-Columbian objects collected by a passionate collector in the 20th century (we are offering many other objects from this set for sale). Mochica culture, contemporary with The southern Peruvian Nazca culture is the only pre-Columbian civilization to have created complex ceramic scenes with the interaction of multiple characters, particularly in its funerary pottery, which was used in large quantities to accompany the deceased in their burial.
