Portrait painter, Martial Frédou moved to the court of Versailles in 1752. In 1755, a notable fact, he joined the King's painting cabinet, as a copyist painter with the mission of disseminating the image of the King and the royal family on works by Jean Marc Nattier, Maurice Quentin de La Tour, Louis Michel Van Loo. In 1776 appointed first painter to Mr. Brother of the King and future Louis XVIII.
