Henri Barnoin (1882-1935). Born in Paris, he was a student of Luc-Olivier MERSON, but he especially owes his taste for anecdotal landscapes which he generally brings to life with crowds of peasants, fishermen and boats, markets, to Emile DAMERON, his second master. rocky coasts and processions, it is the entire repertoire of folkloric Brittany which nourishes his work. Since 1909, he has exhibited seascapes and watercolor views of Paris at the salon. A work which, in its serenity and its assured technique, is a faithful mirror of the painter's fervor for daily Breton life.
