18th century, modified in the 19th century France Interesting Lambrequin, window or bed adornment in chintz, Indian Indian and French Indian, work commonly called Persian Embroidery. Baroque in composition, this lambrequin, made or modified in the 19th century, includes numerous assembled fragments of Indian painted canvases dating from the beginning of the 18th century. Decor with a white and indigo chintz blue background, there are additions of later French Indians. Interesting work of flowers applied and embroidered with cord and designs highlighted with fine cream trimmings from the 18th century. Lambrequin mounted on thick burlap and fully lined with mustard yellow cotton sateen (stitching at the lining). Light dusting of the cream cotton background but fresh and preserved colors. No holes or major defects. Good general condition of color and conservation. We have a second identical and longer lambrequin, which will be for sale. Dimensions: 187 cm long by 46 cm high.
