"Mazarine Commode 18th Century "
So-called “Mazarine” chest of drawers, attributed to AN COULERU, (1716-1812) 18th Century Period. It is in Rosewood and Amaranth Marquetry with geometric decorations of Precious Wood. It is curved on all sides and opens on the front with 3 Large Drawers. The frame and drawers are made of resin, dating from the first part of the 18th century. The 3 locks are original and close with an attached key. The Uprights are pinched and finished with Small Bronze Clogs in the shape of Deer Legs. Turquin Blue Marble is an Italian Marble named Bardiglio, blue gray in color with white and black streaks. It is Bec de Corbin all around to follow the shape of the Commode. The Chantourné Form Apron is attributed to the Commodes of AN COULERU, one of the most gifted cabinetmakers of his Generation. It measures 135 CM in length, 64 CM in depth and 90 CM in height.
