"Queen Mother Akan, Ivory Coast"
Statue representing a queen mother. She is depicted as a woman seated on a throne. The posture is hieratic with his hands placed on his knees, his back straight, his posture proud and his neck ringed. She wears an elaborate, openwork traditional hairstyle that symbolizes her high importance. The eyebrows meet at the level of a triangular nose and the mouth is half open and reveals a very beautiful row of teeth.
She wears a necklace with three rows of fine red pearls.
