Painter active in the 19th century, Georges Emile Lambert-Fouras essentially represents views of Montmartre at this time. In 1860, Montmartre became part of the capital and in 1890 "le Maquis" was born, a wasteland which became a shantytown district for ordinary people, located on the site of the current Avenue Junot, opened in 1909.
