"Landscape By Max Papart, Oil On Canvas"
Max Papart is a French painter, engraver, illustrator and collage artist. During his first period (1930 to 1958), he painted landscapes, still lifes, portraits, nudes where the abstraction of forms is more and more asserted. From 1958 he developed an increasingly abstract painting. He moved to the United States from 1979. Our work, dated on the back: 56, is therefore from his first period and we can clearly see his desire to synthesize the underlying forms of the landscape. Signed lower left: Papart, countersigned on the reverse and dated.
