Carved wood representing a demon (oni) with long horns.
Aggressive expression on the head with two long horn teeth protruding from the mouth. Frowning black lacquered eyebrows accentuate the gold-ground eyes.
Prominent nose.
The first third of the horns is covered with a black crusty lacquer, ending with a matte black lacquer.
Underneath, a rectangular cavity is used to attach the maedate to the kabuto. And on each side of the head, recesses are provided for the ears.
The head is adorned with a mane (not visible on photo).
Restoration to one horn.
Good condition.
