Price €1500 -- According to "The cabinetmakers of the 18th century by François de Salverte" FORGET (Pierre), furniture carpenter, born in 1723, died in Paris on July 6, 1789. After becoming a master on September 25, 1755, he operated, rue de Charonne, “opposite that of Lappe”, a workshop with ten workbenches which seems to have been very active. When he died, more than 400 pieces of seat wood were inventoried in his home, in addition to bed wood, wardrobe furniture and numerous walnut tables. Among his goods were around fifty chairs and armchairs with doe feet, which proves that the Louis XV style had not yet lost all favor on the eve of the Revolution. The former collection of the Duchess of Avaray contained seats signed by this craftsman. These seats are beautifully made, the lacquer is in good condition. They need to be reupholstered. Provide 9m of fabrics and estimate already established (on request, we will take care of having the living room reupholstered). Note an almost identical living room sold at Christie's on October 16, 2012 in Paris for €3,750.
