"17th Century Spain Travel Cabinet"
Rare travel writing cabinet in the shape of a chest, with handles on the sides. This 17th century Spanish “bargueno” is made of fruit wood, probably walnut. The front is a flap which serves as a writing desk and reveals a series of six drawers; the domed lid, once opened, gives access to four lockers. A cleverly hidden secret space serves as a hiding place for papers, documents or other items. The flap and lid are closed with a hasp lock.
