Born in Soissons, he was a student of the Bordeaux native Marius Gueit, from whom he retained many of the techniques found in his works. Member of the French Artists, he exhibited in several large European cities, and of course in Bordeaux at the Salon de l'Atelier where his name came up regularly after the war. His colorful and nervous palette is displayed on many types of subject, mainly landscapes of the southwest, ranging from the Arcachon Basin to the Basque coast via Périgord where he created numerous works.
Domme, Montfort, Beynac, and here La Roque Gageac were his playground, painting from unusual angles for local painting.
