Important (112 x 83 cm) as exquisite as oil on canvas signed [Marcel] Delamarre de Monchaux on the lower left margin and titled on the reverse ''Dans le jardin''. Interesting post-impressionist technique. Undated work; circa 1930. ''Born in Paris in 1876, Marcel Delamarre de Monchaux was a student of Jules Triquet and a member of the French Artists from 1901. He appeared at the Exhibitions of this Society where he mainly exhibited landscapes of Bruges where he lived ''. (in Bénézit). ''He also traveled across France, the northern coasts of the Channel, notably in Brittany (1909) and the Hautes-Pyrénées in Luze Saint-Sauveur and the Barèges valley (summer 1918).'' (Wikipedia). A handwritten time label pasted on the reverse suggests that this painting appeared in an exhibition. Presented in a molded gilded wood frame. Keyed chassis.
