A Renaissance bronze glove ring with an inkwell.Italian, 16/17th century.

The heavy bronze ring is tapered with a hinged domed lid which opens to reveal an integral inkwell. The body of the ring is decorated with applied acanthus leaf decoration, a relief of a classical couple is applied to both sides.
